With the consolidation of the Glidden & Park Falls School Districts the Chequamegon School District was officially founded on July 1, 2009. With the newly formed school district the Chequamegon Middle School Track & Field program began its existence during the Spring of 2010. The program has excelled during its first three years by capturing many victories and 1st place finishes as a team. In addition, many impressive records and times have been recorded.
The program competes in a conference with Arbor Vitae Woodruff (AVW), Lac Du Flambeau (LDF), Minocqua Hazelhurst Lake Tomahawk (MHLT) & North Lakeland (NL) creating a 5 team conference. In addition to competing regularly against these schools, Chequamegon often faces surrounding schools in the area such as Ashland, Medford, Mercer, Northwestern, Phillips, Prentice, South Shore, Tomahawk & anyone who is willing to compete against the Screaming Eagles.
